Fava shows her allegiances with a fun intro to Thelonious M onk’s “Rhythm-A-Ning” before Enrique takes ito into a deep groove” while Reed brushes deftly to a suave “All The Things You Are”. Tardy is warm on tenor for the gorgeous duet of “Face Off” while his clarinet is woody and fluid on “Hard to Say” and the clever jaunt with Reed on “Bird of Passage”. Most fun is the clippety-clop of “Restless Mind” that swings joyfully, while the team gets as reflective as lilly pads on “Tidal Waves”. Thoughtful journeys.
