Brazilian vocalist/guitarist Rosa Passos turns Copenhagen into a sambafest with her team of Fabio Torres/p, Paula Paulelli/b and Celso de Almeida/dr through a mix of original and second generation bossa standard. She bookends the show accompanying herself on guitar, bouncy on the seamless “Samba Sem Voce” and celebrative “Aquarela Do Brasil”. Her voice is soft and soto with a youthful vigor, working well with Torres’ dainty digits on the pretty “Milagre” and romantic on ”Altos E Vaixos”. Her vocal delivery is quite rhythmic and percussive, gallooing on “Doralice” and peppy during “Bala Com Bala”. As with all thing s Brazilian, she’s best when seducing, as with Paulelli on the sensuous “Nem Eu” or flowing on the gentle “Gesto”. The new “nova”.
