Lead by vocalist and harmonica player Jason Ricci, the Bad Kind Band is made up of John Lisi/g-dob, Andy Kurz/b, John Pekins/dr and guest vocalists Mona Lisa, Kaitlin Dibble, Ginger Darling along with Slats Klug on squeezebox and percussionist Danny Deckard/ The result is a collection of eleven songs that are high on attitude and energy but short on fresh ideas. Ricci’s harmonica is well featured on a clever read of Led Zeppelin’s “Going To California” and sizzles on the 50s sounding “Sleeping On Biscuits,” growling like a hungry lion on “ Don’t Badger The Witness.” The guitar licks are thick on “My C hops Are Rolling,” with Dibble’s earthy voice front and center on “If You Should Lose Me.” Fresh out of the garage?
