Earthy vocalist Bonelli busts out all over as she bares her soul with a blues rocking team of Tomas Doncker/g, Michael Hill/g, James Dellatacoma/g, Kevin Jenkins/b, Mike Griot/b, Tonhy Lewis/dr, James Coley/dr and a horn/string section arranged by Juerte Blacharach among other mixed and matched guests. She growls with authority to Gary Schreiner’s wailing harp on the shuffling “Playin’ in the Dirt” and is gritty as all get out for the strutter “Don’t You Put Your Hands On Me.” Vintage R&B gets sensuous for Bonelli on the moody “A Little Rain Must Fall” and she gets harrowing with long shadows on the blues ballad “Love Letter.” She bounces with the boys on with STAXY horns on the souful “Nothing I Can’t Handle” and gives a tasty read of the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black” with riveting delivery and fuller lips than Mick Jagger.
