The Braxton Brothers: Higher

Braxton Brothers Nelson/b-key and Wayne as-ts-ss-prog deliver upbeat and catchy originals with a R&B tuned team of Chris Camozzi/g, Errol Cooney/g, Andy Quinn/g, Ryan Parrino/g and Joelibeck Neisler-Lebron/voc. Nelson uses his electric bass to create some hip lines as on “The Only Woman in the World” and the hip hopping “What Would I Do” along with some vocal chorus. There’s lots of synth drapery and percussion, as brother Wayne is cheerfully blowing on “You Care About Me” and the soulful “Higher.” Some lovely lyricism is created by the brothers on the delicate “Because of You” while the team gets into a reggae groove during “Beauty.” Most dramatic is the mix of acoustic guitar with some moody dramatic harmonies during the deep “Where I Wanna Be” that has Wayne most muscular on his tenor. Peppy and uplifting strides.
