Ron Di Salvio & Bart Platteau: The Puglia Suite

Sublime jazz sonatas are delivered by pianist Ron Di Salvio as he teams up with the flutes of Bart Platteau on these 15 intuitive conversations. Platteau’s vibrato is warm and elegant on dreamy themes such as “Puglia” and the pastoral “Lecce,” while Di Salvio adds a dash of Chopin to the rich “Gray Endless Stone Walls.” The team gets a bit bluesy on the coy “Brindisi” and the pianist colors with darker tones while Platteau chirps during “Prmitivo”  while he cries on the mystical “Cork and C arob.” The team flows together like a stream on “Taliana” with some lovely impressionistic stylings by the ivories on “Masseria Il Frantoio” and “Basilicata.” Lovely lilly pads of sounds.
