Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox: The New Classics

21st Century swing for the Millennials is delivered in concert form by arranger and pianist Scot Bradlee, who brings together Jesse Elder/p, Adam Kubota/b, David Tedeschi/sax-cl, Lemar Guillary/tb, Mike Cottone/tp and Tim Kubart/tamb for a show long on attitude and delivery.

The band shows its chops and instincts on a frantic take of “Meet the Flintstones” while Aubrey Logan sings and plays the ‘bone on “Bad Blood.” Sara Niemietz goes cabaret on “Time After Time” and a vaudevillian read of “I Will Survive” and Lavance Colley shuffles along to “Halo.” A vocal quartet get riveting on “All About That Bass” while a trio of Ariana Savalas, Sara Niemietz and Logan  fill the stage along with Tedeschi’s hot clarinet during “Bye Bye.” The band works up a sweat on this steamy gig.
