Contributions by Julian Marley, Kabaka Pyramid, JAH9, Rging Fyah, Notis Heavyweightrockaz and Dre Island make Nattali Rize’s latest album a kaleidoscope of reggae sounds. While many of the tunes have a thick electric percussive groove and framework as on the title track and “Natty Rides Again With Julian Marley,” there are times of acoustic and organic grooves as with the acoustic guitar on “One People,” the electric guitar riff of “Free Up Your Mind” and the rich piano on “Heart of A Lion.” Throughout it all, there are palpable pulses for a night of head bobbing, with bluesy guitar work on “Meditation” and R&B soul during “ Fly Away.” Rize gives fervent delivery of voice on all moods.
