Dominic Miller brings rich classical guitar strings along with his electric bass to team up with Miles Bould’s supportive drums and percussion on this elegant and elegiac album. Miller’s touch is relaxed, elegant and patient on pieces like the delicate “Urban Waltz” and “Water” with dainty intimacy permeating “En Passant.” Some folk charms get pastoral during “Valium” and the tribute to the famed Brazilian musician Baden Powell gets the most percussive assertations during the warm and flowing “Baden.” As calm and refreshing as taking in the sun on a morning in the plaza.
