Dominic Miller plays both acoustic guitar and electric bass in a series of bucolic duets with percussionist/drummer Miles Bould. The mood is relaxed and verdant, with green hills imagined with the folksy strums of guitar on “What You Didn’t Say” and the world/classical feel of “En Passant.” The team gets gloriously intimate on the delicate “Le Pont” and they use pauses in conversation well during “ Tisane” whereas they show rich lines during the radiant “Urban Waltz.” They display muscle as well, with Bould delivering some Brazilian percussion on the charming “ Baden.” Cozy, yet the digital perspicacity of the guitarist should not be underestimated by its subtle charms.
