Pianist and synth player Vlad Girshevich along with his brother/drummer Aleks Girshevich create an impressive collection of originals with special guest Eddie Gomez on bass. The two brothers work well with the Bill Evans alumnus, creating rich conversations for the bassist to join in, as on the sloping and sliding “When We Are Kids” or the multi-hued “Hailing The Chaos” which includes some synth strings to add to the texture. There are some rich piano intros that slowly glide into a theme, as on “A Far Away Place,” and some rich brush work sashays on the elegant “Unborn Tales.” Gomez is a master all throughout, bowing on the evocative “A Song of An Old Tree” and gloriously languid on “A Rainbow On Your Carpet.” Sophisticated, swinging and sensuous.
