The team of Marcelinho Dalua, Alexandre Moreira and Marcio Menescal mix together electronic programmings, keyboards, bass and vocals to bring classic bossa nova to modern sensibilities. Vocalists such as Cris Delanno, Roberto Mescal and Wilson Simoninha have rich sounds and create impressive Millennial touches to “Agua De Beber,” “Aguas De Marco” and “Essa Moca Ta Diferente” respectively. The scratchy backdrops get a bit on the nerves and seem to set the sounds into the present era, instantly dating the music. The sensuality of Tom Jobim pieces like “Meditacao” loses a bit of sensuality with the technology, but maybe that’s what today’s ears want, or deserve.
