Mixed Culture: Deluxe Edition

I’m still not sure of the difference between reggae and “dub” music. This two disc album tries to show the difference. The first one by Gary Woung has lyrics in English and Spanish for lilting Jamaican grooves with topics ranging as disparately from legalizing marijuana to concern for people acting “crazy.” Why not put two and two together, mon?

The second album has essentially the same songs, but without hardly any lyrics and the music stretched out longer with maybe some more horn work. Maybe this one works better at the local Jamaican bar, while the first album is good for the house party.
