Mark Schuster does just about everything on this six song ep of originals. His midi, guitar and bass work cover the various rock/indie/jazz rhythms and solos, along with some strings added on “A Little Bit Shy” and extra texture from Stefan Olariu’s trumpet and flugelhorn as well as background voices on “Hanging With Q.” On the latter, there are folksy acoustic guitar strums along with rootsy rock and background voices, whereas the strings on “A Little Bit Shy” lead into a steady power trio groove. There are some hip and jazzy moments with Olariu on the lithe “What If?” and a touch of world music flows on “If Not For You.” Varied and unpretentious offerings.
