BLUES FROM QUEBEC? Angel Forrest: Angel’s 11

Better believe it! Angel Forrest from El Norte sings like a young Bonnie Raitt and teams up with an arsenal of guitarists on this wide ranging foot stomper of an album. She’s got a growl in her gizzard, getting swampy with Johnny Flash on “Hangman” and teaming up with some gospel grooves and Kim Greenwood on “Let Me go.” A B3 hums during the stroll of “Spoil Me Up” and some heavy metal rocks during “Wildflower” and “touch of My Hand.” She can also groan with the blues, as on “Crucify” and sit with you on the back porch of “You and I”  while boogie-ing on the rolling “Hold On Tight…(Mr. I’m Alright).” The juke joint jumps with this Angel.
