New Age music continues its comeback with this reissue of the 1987 classic Sign Language by Darol Anger/v, Mike Marshall/g-mand, Barbara Higbie/key and Michael Manring/b. Much of the feel is folksy here as on the upbeat and melodic “Skywriting” and “To Be,” both which feature Higbie’s lovely piano. Intricate guitar work along with bass and piano on the lyrical “Just Walking” as the rhythm gracefully gallops to Anger’s violin on “Jacob do Bandolim.” The mood gets panoramic with Marshall’s acoustic guitar on “In the Shadow of the Blimp” and he gets folksy on “Grant Wood.” A taste of vintage Americana.
