Culled from decades of concert performances, this collection has Eberhard Weber using his distinctly sounding electric double bass (and sometimes keyboards) in both solo settings and with flugelhornist Ack van Rooyen. The result is a dreamy tapestry that melds synthesized chords and melodious bass lines, as on “Rankwell” and “ Langehagen.” Strummed chords create a gentle raga on “London” and “Bradford” while almost cello-like pickings are felt on the panoramic “Rankweil.” The sound is so ambient that if there were Gaellic vocals, you almost might mistake this for an Enja album. Brooding and misty.
