Possibly THE definitive black gospel vocal group is covered here on this two disc, 54 song set. Led by the rich voice of Clarence  Fountain along with George Scott, Velma Bozman Traylor, Johnny Fields, Olice Thomas and JT Hutton The Five Blind Boys of Alabama created a songbook and style still influencing todays singers, both saved and sinner. The group was known as singing a “hard gospel” style, meaning that they sang like they were filled with The Spirit. Amen!

You get riveting reads of songs like “The Is A Fountain” and a raptured “I’ll Fly Away”, with Fountain belting out a prayer to God on “Oh, Lord, Stand By Me” and tellng a riveting testimony on “”Mother’s Song” and “Living On Mother’s Prayer”. The classic Thomas Dorsey Song” Precious Lord” is give a definitive treatment here, and the vocal back and forth of “Jesus Won’t Deny Me” is the group at it’s testifying best. Pass the plate!!
