Sunny Bleau belts it out with a hard hitting team of Nicholas A. Cocco/g, Bill Ruffino/b, James Cunningham/dr, Rick Steff/key and guests Jeff Jenson/g, Kiersi Joli/voc-harm and Dr. Peter Stephenson/org. Bleau’s got a growl to make the hair on your neck stand on end as she snarls through “Two Glasses of Whiskey On Ice” and growls around the harmonica on “S-H-E-E-E W-O-M-A-N”. There are some gritty Chicago blues on “You Better Put The Coffee On” while the ballad “You Put Me Out” has her conclude with a deft “Like A Cigarette”, and she even puts some dirt under her nails as she gives a dramatic read to the hymn “It Is Well With My Soul”. I’d hate to meet her in a dark alley!
