Trumpeter Julian Wasserfuhr teams up with brother Roman on piano and cellist Jorge Brinkmann (with guest saxist Paul Heller) on this album of mimimalist adventures. The three create gentle ripples on a pretty “Vent Chaud” with some folksy ideas from Brimkmann during “Dodo”. Julian’s horn is fluffy throughout, rich in texture on “Dancing Windmills” and warm around the bowed cello of the ECM ish “Movimiento”. Heller adds dark spirits to “Solitude” and “El Caballo Vallente”with the whole album hovering like a morning haze.
