Free form tenorist Ivo Perelman joins with fluid thinking pianist Matthew Shipp , bassit William Parker and violaist Mat Maneri for a handful of loose fitting wares. The p ieces range from an 11 minute “Armageddon Flower” that features some flailing bows, ties and plucks from the strings to a 21 minute opus “Tree of Life” that has Shipp shifting like the sands under, over, sideways and down on Perelman’s gasping for air tenor sax. “Restoration” has the horn and strings form a Neopolitan traffic jam, honking horns included, while “Pillar Of Light” is kaleidoscopic in its colors, ranging from the ROY G BIV rainbow to blackest of black.
