Playing piano, organ and synths, John Nau teams up with Trey Henry/b, John Ferraro/dr and Brian Chapman/g-v for some classy compositions. He uses the strings well on “Day Hike” and the whimsical “The Butterfly Verses The Wind”, with the latter feeling like one’s taking part in a musical journal. Chapman’s guitar echoes on the reflective “Vespers” with soft tender pedals floating for “Wandering”. Nau flows on the easy cadence of “Lupita” and his lyricism is a plus for “Riffing On A Daydream”.
