Drummer Jerry Kalaf mixes his classy trio of Tom Ranier/p and Trey Henry/dr with the serene strings supplemented by ATLYS (Sabrina Tabby-Jinty McTavish/I, Erin Raffrty/va, Genevieve Tabby/cel). The strings serve as a reflective muse, not overpowering or strangling the trio, swinging hiply to “263 Beacon” and adding a fine mist to the blue “At The End Of The Day”. The sophisticated “Shearing” has Ranier in glorious light, while he is dreamy on over the restless undercurrent of “Bailing”. The strings give a clever intro to “Safe Travels” and add to the gentility of “Perspectives”. Chambered charms.
