Ginmanblachmandahl: What’s To Come

The team of Lennart Ginman/b, Thomas Blachman/dr and Carsten Dahl/p put together an album of modern originals. All of the songs are quite concise, ranging from 2-4 minutes, with Dahl evoking images of pianists ranging from Ellington (“The Rock and Roll Swing Experience”) to Bill Evans (“A Troubless Everyday”) and Wynton Kelly (“The Bliss of Sonic Swing”) with even a dash of Monk thrown in (“Improvised Composition…”). The three are  playful on “Waiting Room Anxiety Blues” and show dark shadows on “The Art of Finding Without Seeking”. Trio trails.
