Mike Scott shows his talents on both electric and nylon strings with his team of Joe Bagg/p-org, Darek Oles and Jake Reed/dr on a tasty mix of material. With Bagg at the keys, Scott’s strings get blue on “Jack’s Dilemma” and on the plugged in “Coda” while gorgeous interplay between Scott and Bagg’s piano takes place on the delicate “Dark Bossa”. The team bops well on “49” and gets funky for “Now and Later” with Oles laying down a nice line for a rich take of “On A Clear Day”. Scott’s rich touch on nylon shows lots off space on his solo “Sol Minor Prelude” while he bounces with the team on “Rondo”. Nice ax work.
