If you want bass guitar, you get it in spades here, with Sigurd Hole playing every aspect of the acoustic bass on this double disc collection of improvisations. I’m not sure why the words “Lys” (“list”) and “Morke” (“In the wrap”) are used as titles, but there you go.
Musically, there seems to be either extra recorded sounds of something electric, or simply background nature on pieces like “Lys” while Hole bows on “Yngeldans”, rumates on “Duggdraper” and gets dark subtones out of “Speilbilde” Buzzing bows trudge through “Hrisont” and “Bolge” with ruminations abounding on “Ritual” and “Morke”.
