Guitarist and keyboardist Eric St-Laurent leads a subtle quartet with percussionist Michel DeQuevedo, bassist Jordan O’Connor and Sebastian Studnitzky on trumpet and piano. The moods are mostly relaxed with sublime guitar and piano pretty on “Forsaken Cowboy” and melancholy during “Calvados.” Studnitzky’s horn is soft and palpable on the genteel “Bliss Station” and with harmonizing voice gets into a Brazilian mood for “Expand.” Romantic keys and bass are rich for “Less” and St-Laurent’s guitar reflects like a sun on O’Connor’s pond for “Edges.” Lilly pads of sound.
