Vocalist Agnes Obel creates haunting atmospheres on this recent album of atmospheres. Eerie guitars and piano form long shadows for her ethereal voice on pieces like “Drosera” with mythical moments teamed with strings on the title piece and the sepia toned “Parliament of Owls.” Environments akin to Miss Havisham’s forgotten wedding banquet take place on “Can’t Be” and the ghostly “Island Of Doom”. You’ll definitely want to keep the night light on for this one.
