A mix of pop, funk and jazz meld well well Don Briethaupt/key, Justin Abedin/g, mark Kelso/dr, Pat Kilbride/b, Peter Cardinali/b, Art Avalos/percand a horn section of Tony Carlucci, William Sperandei, Vern Dorge, John Johnson and William Carn creating sounds and moods akin to Steely Dan and Chicago. CTA-inspired horns punch out “Welcome To The Rest Of The World” and “Nine O’Clock Friday.” A tune that could have been composed by Donald Fagin, “When The Mud Men Come” is clever and witty in pulse and tone, while the AWB-infused “10,000 Hours” is a dance hall ditty. These guys mix a good dose of food for head, ears and feet.
