The Band BMG is made up of Mr. Downchild on vocals, harp, guitar and various accoutrements co-leading with vocalist Kasimira as they form a front line for guest guitarist Sean Carney and a swinging team of Scott Flowers/dr, ray Deforest-Hank West b and Cody Romshak. The gents show off both their chops and hearts as they boogie hard on the shuffling instrumental “Swinging With Hank” while the Crescent City heart toes tip tip tipitina for Kasimira as she growls on “Home To My Baby.”
She’s got a touch of Bonnie Raitt in her voice, riding the Strat wave and veering through Downchild’s howling harp on “Nightgown” and snarling along the Chuck Berry riff on a rocking “87/Oh Baby.” Downchild takes you to the South Side of Chicago on a rural ride for “Snapshot” and teams up at the mike with Kasimira for a swampy “Grey Sky Blues.” The blues wail for Kasimira on “Special Man” and the team gets into a Reverend Gary Davis mode for a street preaching fest on “I’m Your Handyman.” No nail polish on these fingers!
