The quartet of Dominic Desjardins/voc-bj-g, Jerome Dupuis-Cloutier/tp-key, Sylvain Delisie/b and Jonathan Gagne/dr make up the mix of trad and modern Jazz Street Boys. On this 6 song ep, they mix concert and studio sounds. The latter has Dupuis-Cloutier’s trumpet moaning over the tic toc of “Sherbrew” while Desjardins sings in vaudevillian fashion with Dupuis-Cloutier switching to a striding piano on “Irish Pearl.” The team has fun on the NO beat of “Journee d’Americue Latine” and shows their romantic side on the pretty “Cheap Shot.” Indie and traditional walking hand in hand.
