Norah Jones: Begin Again

This seven song ep finds Norah Jones in a wide ranging mood of singles she’s produced over the year with guitarist Jeff Tweedy, drummer Brian Blade and pianist Thomas Bartlett. Even the mention of these three names in one sentence gives you the eclectic nature of the recordings and moods, as she makes her voice wisp with echoes to they stark synth pulse of “My Heart Is Full” and the eerie “Just A Little Bit” while she comes across like a minstrel with a folksy twang on the casual “A Song With No Name” and the Nashville’d “Wintertime.”  Her languid “It Was You” is nightclub bluesy, and she’s almost childlike on the indie lullaby ”Uh Oh.” She’s definitely looking for new colors, and she’s trying new brushes on this wide palate.
