The eight member Gentleman’s Dub Club takes you on a journey that gives warning, warning to Will Robinson on this spacey mix of Jamaica and unknown galaxies. Vocalist Jonathan Scratchley sings with a mix of sweat, punk and indie while Luke Allwood brings keyboards and synth effects to explore wild moods and atmospheres. The “Intro” is a collection of space ship effects, leading into thick pulsations as on “Light the Fuse” and the chunky “God of War.” Lots of electronic noodles take up “Stardust” and “Intergalactic” while Tommy Evans’ drums rumble on “Turning Back” and “Midnight Healing” as the horns add texture on “Out of This World.” Reggae going on a star trek.
