Kat Danser: Goin’ Gone

Singing and playing guitar, Kat Danser creates homespun and earthy moods with Seve Dawson/g-stg, Jeremy Holms/b-mand, Gary Craig/dr, Jim Hoke/sax-harp and Matt Combs/fid-mand. She sounds like a rambling woman with harp and guitar on the muscular “Goin Gone” and delivers some rockabilly with some Link Wray licks on “Voodoo Groove.” A rural boogie takes place with harp and guitar on “Hol’ Up, Baby” and she picks and grins her way to Nashville on the folksy blues “My Town” while taking a side trip to the swamp on an electric “Memphis, Tennessee.” Ominous clouds get dark on “Kansas City Blues” and the fuzzy axe of “Light the Flame” with the team shuffling on “Time For Me To Go.” Red clay under the nails.
