This debut album by singer/songwriter Kathryn Joy teams herself with Rahn Coleman/p-synt, David Cowan/perc, Quentin Dennard/dr, James Leary/b, Greg Poree/g and various guess for this six song mix of moods. Flamenco moods and dramatic guitar are felt on “A Seed to the Wind” with some plunging trumpet on the Depression era “Peche Melba.” Uptown moods takes place on “Swing It Like Ella” with Joy in a smoky mood while she gets intimate on “Sweeter With Time.” Lots of world wide sounds and universal images on this retro with a forward looking album.
