Sublime guitar moods are created by Nate Najar with his trio of Tommy Cecil/b and Matthew Home/dr as the leader tackles a Gaul-dominated songbook. His touch and tone are cool and thoughtful on gentle breezes such as “La Mort Douce” and Ce Petit Chemin” with adroit interplay with Home on the lyrical “Song of Songs.” Chuck Redd brings in his crystalline vibes in for a sparkling read of Django Reinhardt’s “Nuages” and a softly swinger in “Sa Jeunesse.” The overall mood is of pastels of sounds. Rich and calming.
He’s got a gig coming up Oct 7 at Spaghettini’s; you won’t want to miss this guy.
