Just like the album cover photo shows, guitarist and singer Keith Stone serves up a healthy blue plate special with waiters Tom Worrell/keys, Eddie Christmas/dr, Kennan Shaw/b, Brent Johnson/slg and Jimmy Carpenter/sax through a full 3 course meal of Southern Comfort food. The butter drips off of the potatoes as Stone delivers a hominy gritty voice on smoky pieces like “Ain’t That The Blues” while Worrell pulls out his Professor Longhair for a swinging stride of “Something In The Water.” Some jazzy funk lines by Shaw sizzle like shrimps on the barbie for “Love Done Put Me Down” and the soulful “Time to Move On” while the team slows down for a dry rub on the ballad “Crazy in Love With You.” This one sticks to the ribs!
