The Mexican restaurant Viva Cantina in beautiful Burbank was rollicking back in May of 2017 as Hammond B3er Jocelyn Michelle teamed with John Rack/g, Bill Noble-Steve Mann/as-ts, Andrea Lindborg-Tony Farrell/tp, Sammy K/dr and Al Person/perc for a groove fest. The horns swaggerd on the bluesy hipster “Groove Yard” while Latin pulsations rumbled like the running of the bulls on “Last Tango in Paris” and “ Oh No, Could I Be In Love.” Rack is nimble on the fun “One Note Samba” and the team gets soulful on the pop hit “Groovin’” Michelle varooms like a 70 Mustang on the visceral “Pink Panther Theme” and the team shuffles off to Buffalo on “The Look of Love.” Even the salsa and chips were shaking this night.
