Twins Lauren and Leanna Price sing with rich lead and harmony voices while Leanna hits the fiddle and Lauren focuses on mandolin. Along with Charlie Cushman/banjo, Bryan Sutton/g, Mike Bub-Dennis Crouch/b, Justin Moses/dobro and Gary Tussing/cel, they create a mix of modern and old timey moods on this upbeat and festive album.
The picking is clean and the harmonies velvety on pieces like the uptempo’d “Love Me or Leave Me Alone” while they take you two stepping on “Singing My Troubles Away.” Leanna’s rich voice lilts on “You’ve Been a Friend to Me’ while Lauren delivers a harrowing tale on “Widow of the Mountain.” Old fashioned gospel is on display on for a Sunday Mornin’ “Get on the Main Highway” and the ladies create a lovely mood with some nice picking by Sutton on “Raindrop Waltz.” Warm modern tradtions.
