Guitarist Roni Ben-Hur and bassist Harvie S bring in drummer Tim Horner to crate a rich and subtly swinging trio through a mix of standards. The team takes you on a wonderful trip to Brazil on a couple of sambas on “Repetition” and “Pra Machucar Meu Coracao” while flexing their bop chops on Kenny Dorham’s ”Asiatic Raes” and Joe Henderson’s “Serenity.” The strength on this album is the gorgeous and melodic tones delivered by the two leaders, as Harvie S is sublime and cozy on “Nobody Else But Me” and Ben-Hur mixes hip riffs on “Blood Count” with dreamy tones on “Focus.” The trio is at their chamber best on the jogger’s pulsed “Deixa” and the graceful canter of “Introspection. “ Any tours coming around?
