Guitarist Justin Piper delivers a gorgeously pastoral mix of sounds that blend jazz, world and folk. His touch is warm, forward thinking and clean, gracefully upbeat on “Through Composed” and richly textured for “Mahavishnu’s Lullabye.” His picking is delicate and deft on the classical-mooded “Lakeside” and shows some blues hues with droplets of strings on “Rondo.” A dash of electric guitar makes a guest appearance to create a Cumberland Gap mood on “Fayatteville Honey” while rural folk themes are plucked on “Bobbing.” Highly rewarding; Piper calls the tunes.
