Composer Vadim Neselovskyi plays piano and melodic with hsitrio of Ronen Itzik/dr-perc and Dan Loomis/b. Sara Serpa brings her intimate wordless voice to the moonlit sonata of “Station Taiga” and “ethereal “Almost December.” As for the leader, he’s got a rich and classical touch, showing a hint of back on the rapidly paced “On a Bicycle” while he broods like Chopin with Loomis’ bowed bass on “Winter.” Itzik delivers some drive and drama to the title track, while the whole team gallops on the deeply grooved “Who Is It.” There’s a spot for everyone to get a solo, with the leader featured on a Debussy-esque “Krai,” Loomis thick and grooved on “Interlude” and drums and piano delivering a rubato on”Interlude II.” The team works well on mixing melody with moods.
