I doubt if the name of this trio is going to become the easiest to remember, but the music of Debashish Bhattacharya/g, Anders Lonne Gronseth/ts-ss, KennY Wessel/eg and Subhasis Bhattacharya/perc is actually a memorable meld of East meeting West.” The band is clever with its musical concepts, even delivering a cozy ready of “Goodnight Irene” with a mix of electric and acoustic guitars with a hint of jasmine. “The percussion percolates to perfection for the sitar and soprano sax on “Gaoti” while Gronseth’s breathy tenor is meditative on the thoughtful “Kirwani” and the lyrical “Charushree.” Wessel adds some wonderful blues fragrances to the folksy “Bahut Acha” and the soft pulse of Lover’s Call” is a charmer. Wonderful fragrances and spices are in the air here.
