Classy and high society jazz is presented by vocalist Seiko Matsuda as she wisps and coos through richly produced standards. Her strength here are her takes on the bossa nova genre, as her soft and seductive voice fits in well with the delicate strings and brass on “The Girl From Ipanema” and the understated piano of “Corcovado.” Dreamy moods a la Sebesky are touched upon during “The Look of Love” and the dreamy strings of “The Way We Were” and she lets less say more on “The Way We Were.” A bit on the pop side, but good for a quiet night with quiet stars.
