Ya gotta love a guy that advertises himself as “Older, Wiser, Louder Stronger” in the liner notes. This guy plays guitar and percussion on all the songs, bass and drums on half and sings like he’s been chewing on the glass bottle as well as drinking its contents on boogie rockers like “Going Downtown See My Old Gal Sue” and “Dirty Diesek.” The rest of the team of Dave Keyes/p-org, Dave Moore/dr and Matt Lapham/b are ready to roll, and with Tipitina Horowitz’s trumpet on “Slow Down Sugar” and “Bye Bye Love” you mix a jazzy hipness with the bluesy pulse. SAs with all things from Fender, smoky blues win the day, and “Blues For Charlie” and the Delta dawn of “C’mon In My Kitchen” go down like 12 Year old Bushmills.
