Ronny Graupe brings together a flexible trio with Jonas Westergaard/b and Christian Lillinger/dr as he uses his guitar in both electric and acoustic settings. He knows how to bop the strings, going hip with his tensile tone with Lillinger’s ride cymbal on the nifty “Kappler Drehe” and shows his work on dynamics as bass and drums lay down a hip pulse on “Iberia.” Lillinger gets playful and ambitious in the underworld, toying with the bowed bassist on the free form “Szene Auf Dem Lande” and creating a restless undercurrent under Graupe’s reflective acoustic strings on “Aniol.” Graupe gets folksy as he solos on the lovely title track and is reflective over the rumbling undercurrent of his teammates on the spacious “Sunset Setting.” A creative team effort
