This documentary of Noel Paul Stuckey, Peter Yarrow and Mary Travers, better known as Peter Paul and Mary, reflects an era when music spoke to the populace about important issues. With film of concerts including an early 60s BBC program, you get to see how this vocal trio spoke about the times ranging from the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War to even Migrant Farmers. Pete Seeger joins the band on “Where Have All the Flowers Gone” and Tom Paxton contributes to “Train Wreck at Los Gatos” but most of the time you get the three giving insight to their social consciousness. A heartfelt tribute to the departed Mary closes up the documentary, but the major take away here is that songs can lead a nation into a right direction, or at lease ask the right questions.
