One of music’s true guilty pleasures is taking in a gig or album by ZZ Top. Also known worldwide in the TV show Bones, Billy Gibbons returns to his “first” career as guitarist and vocalist along with Dusty Hill/b and Frank Beard/dr to deliver a rhythm and riff anthology of their hits from various concerts around the world. Vintage blues such as “ Jesus Just Left Chicago” mix with rockers “Got Me Under Pressure” on this fist pumping session. And don’t expect any Rogers and Hart here, with songs like “Cheap Sunglasses,” “Tush” and the classic boogie “La Grange” made for the Schlitz crowd. Jeff Beck joins in during the London show, delivering some tasty treats on the ballad “Rough Boy” and sounding Superstitious on a stomping “Sixteen Tons.” A party essential!
