Michael Kaeshammer: No Filter

Michael Keashammer gets nice and rootsy on this album of his own compositions. He sings, plays a ton of keyboards and gets into a nice bluesy mood with Devon Henderson/g, Roger Travassos/dr-perc and a horn section of William Sperandei/tp, Chris Gale/ts and William Carn/tb. The horns work well to create a soulful mood on “Sweet Grace” and meld well with the Hammond on the boogie special “Nothing Seems to Reach You.” The juke joint jumps on “Talk To Me Baby” and you even get a special guitar surprise with Randy Bachman going overdrive on “Everybody Catches Love Sometime.” His  voice is earthy and sun dried, working well on the late night “Back To The Pen” and his piano work is late night cozy on “Sunset.” Impressive and with callouses on the fingers
