She has a core team that is directed by Felipe Founier consisting of Joel Mateo/dr, Dan Martinez/b, Rafael Rosa/g and Sara Caswell/v as well as guests Randy Brecker with Jimmy Haslip on an upbeat R&B-ish “Freedom. Dori Caymmi brings his guitar for strumming and Kenny Loggins chimes in on a cozy samba read of “On the 4th of July” and a gypsy-lated take of “Moondance” includes rich vocals by Al Jarreau. She shows her slinky side on an a cappella intro to “Love For Sale,” but what really catches your ear are a pair of tunes composed by Lou Reed. A bluegrassy take of “Pale Blue Eyes” will cause a double take, as will a mariachi assuaged version of “Calm Before The Storm.” This lady has some moxie!
